adb tcpip insufficient permissions for device error

In order to connect an android device wirelessly for debugging any android application sometime we face this error.

error: insufficient permissions for device

to resolve this you can execute below commands.

First step is to stop the running adb server:

adb kill-server

Next step is to start the server again but this time with root privileges:


sudo adb start-server

The output of this command will be like this:


* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *

Now you can execute command


adb tcpip 5555

you will the output

restarting in TCP mode port: 5555

Then you can connect you device


adb connect 25.50.177.65

Your device will be connect. Now you can debug your android application.
